We ask that you arrive on time for your studio appointment in order to allow your child a little time to adjust to the environment, and "settle". In the meantime, you can peruse our sample photos and backgrounds; take your time with this, there is no hurry. (During a Mall Show, we ask that you arrive a few minutes prior to a scheduled appointment so that you do not feel "rushed" in deciding on the background artwork.)

Once you have selected the background for your photo, we will ask you to select the costume for your child. We have several styles and colours of costumes, in a range of sizes. The costume selections are somewhat more modest for boys, but are appropriate to the backgrounds. Winter, Summer, and Christmas costumes are on-hand as well. Or, if you like, please feel free to bring something from home; maybe you would like your child in a Christmas setting wearing their favourite "jammies," or perhaps, your son would like to wear his favorite team jersey. This is no problem; we will always attempt to accomodate your desires. We have a number of "props" on hand for the sitting. There is always a private area for your child to change into the costumes.

You really dont' have to do anything else; if you like, arrange your child's hair how you want. But, we are usually trying for a "natural' look.

For babies unable to sit up, we have a number of backgrounds and staging suitable to the children lying in repose, or on their tummies. Mom or Dad can sit very close by, and offer a hand to support or reassure the little one. We have "diaper covers" which are appropriate for the photos, or, some parents may prefer the "au naturel" look for their babies. For older kids, we may include "props" in the shots, or ask them to sit in a particular way or pose. (Sorry, at this time, we do not take sittings for adults, but parents are always nearby, to encourage smiles, and laughter from their kids.)

We take the photos with the kids sitting with the props on a table, against a black "chroma key." This assists our graphic artists to render the backgrounds in the lab; the artistic rendering and photographic prints are produced in our lab, not on-site, which ensures the highest possible quality and consistency in your portraits.

We generally take 30 - 40 shots with high-definition digital cameras and professional lighting. We then allow you to review these photos, and select the one you like the very best. This one image is sent to the lab for processing.

At this time you select the portrait package that fits your needs the best. You may also order enlargements for beautiful living-room-wall-size art prints up to 36" x 48". The packages are surprisingly inexpensive. Our "traditional" package or prints, including the session fee and artistic rendering, starts at $79.98, plus taxes (for one child). The entire sitting usually takes 30 - 45 minutes, including the selection of the backgrounds and your favorite shot. If you ask, we will offer advice, but the decision is always yours.

If, for any reason, we are unable to capture an image with which you are happy, we will simply reschedule at no additional charge. Also, if your baby is being uncooperative, or what-have-you, we recommend we reschedule the session as well. We just ask that you please notify us in advance if you cannot make your appointment.

That's it - the sittings are quick, and usually the kids have a lot of fun. And so do we. The best reward for us is to be able to work with the kids and their proud parent(s), witnessing the loving bond between them. What a privilege to be part of the creation of these "magical memories" that will last forever in our customers' hearts!
